To Speed up EYP A questionnaire was circulated
among co-ordinators of 25 EYP subject groups, seeking to find out major problems
and ways to speed up production of articles. Later a joint meeting was held to
discuss ways of improving contributions, and theprovision of resources. EYP Consultants The group consisting of
children and young people, met to discuss two artides: "topology", and
"life" in two different groups. Ms. Mirhadi on the Rise of the
Moo This important T.V. Program
hosted EYP's general editor, to discuss suchissues as education, NGOs, CBC, and
EYP. Workshop for New Contributors Thirty six contributors joined
this bi-annual program. They worked both together, and in different groups on
literature social sciences, and sciences. EYP Senior Editors The group met with EYP's
general editor, chief editors Ms. I. Gorgin, and Mr. A. Pazouki to create more
specific guidelines for the growing number of senioreditors. Ketabe Mah Looks at EYP This monthly magazine hosted a
meeting with T. Mirhadi, and N. Ansari tocreate more public awarness towards the
making of an Encyclopedia. Mr. H. Bokaiachired the meeting. EYP at I*Earn in Moscow The presence of Ms. Fahima and
Ms. Allah Bakhsh, from EYP's math. group, at I*Earn was made possible through
the Science and Arts Foundation (SAF). They made a presentation on EYP, with
particular reference to mathematics. EYP at the Ghirghiz Republic Prof. Avazbek Atakhanov met
with CBC colleagues at the First Congress onIranology, where he greatly
appreciated EYP. A set was presented to him for the Academy of Oriental
Languages and Cultures. CBC and Small Libraries Bamdade Ketabkhaneha (BK) is
the name of a project that aims to setguidelines, and help the development
of|libraries. At present work is ongoing inseveral deprived school libraries.
Ms. Sh. Eftekhari works on this project with anumber of colleagues, including
library science students. The following bankaccount is for contributions: ac.
no. 200111/02 at Sepah (Motahari - Modarres) code 1858. Figures Futur 2002 In a long standing policy of
introducing international events, young illustratorsare invited to pick up the
information from the library. CBC at the Donya Workshop This was held on July 13-14
2002, to discuss A National Care Program for the Development of Pre-School
Children, Mrs. T. Mirhadi spoke on "The Effect of Development on Social
Relations", and Mr. M. Naseri, drafted a plan for CBC' scontribution to the
National Plan. Ms. M. Homayouni's Report This 2001 report of work at
the Tehran Rehabilitation Center, available at CBCLibrary, shows the importance
of NGO work in such organizations. Dr. Ali Reza Sadr Mohammadi at
Donya Doostaran co-ordinator, Ms. S.
Mafi took part in a one day session on June 42002, at the Donya Institute, where
the speaker aptly demonstrated ways to raise NGO capabilities. Ms. Zari Mottahedan in Tehran Active promoter of CBC/EYP
outside Iran, Mrs Mottahedan came to Tehran for a short visit both to take part
in the Folk – Classic Concert June 19-20 tobenefit EYP, and to discuss CBC/EYP
international work with colleagues. Children's Literature Workshop The sixteenth workshop (sept
2001-June 2002) had about 40 regular participants, CBC hopes many will join book
reviewing activities. EC Meetings Two meetings were held dealing
with different matters, most important issues: EYP production, financial needs
and difficulties, raise of membership fees, etc. Peace at Tea Time (asraneh
solh) CBC had a share of this
ongoing program organized by Donya Institute on July 18. Ms. A. Amini is co-ordinator
of the program (Report in the next issue). Programs for Young CBC
colleagues Two programs are planned for
July-August to acquaint young people who haveparticipated actively in CBC/EYP
activities with a broader spectrum of CBC and IBBY's work. Newsletter Online The Newsletter
